Linda is one of the most engaged, thoughtful, and dedicated students I’ve had in my years teaching editing. She threw herself into several of my courses, completed all the work brilliantly, and always had questions that showed she had carefully considered everything I’d given her to read. I would not hesitate to use Linda as a copyeditor or line editor for my book. I know it would be in excellent – and deeply caring – hands.

"I feel like I won the editor lottery!" I'd say this to Linda over the months we worked together. The dedication, thoughtfulness and knowledge Linda pours into her work is exceptional. Not only that, but she has a natural ability to amplify the writer's voice, pulling out the intended message and sharpening the words to create a final product that is beyond your wildest dreams.

Copyediting involves correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and word usage errors. It also involves fact-checking and addresses some formatting issues for consistency and/or to meet the publisher’s expectations. Sometimes it wanders into light line editing.
Also known as stylistic editing, line editing can be heavy or light. My process involves a careful read of your manuscript with an eye for flow, sequencing, inconsistencies, clarity of meaning, dialogue formatting, and sentence structure. I might make suggestions from a reader’s perspective, and promise to cherish your voice and story.

Readers LOVE a well-written story, and YOU have put your heart and soul—and a lot of time—into yours. But we all know how a misplaced comma can completely change the meaning of a sentence, a redundant word or phrase can distract the reader, and that grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, sequence, and flow all contribute to the impact of a book.
